IVC-18 International vacuum conference
Aug. 23-27, 2010 - Beijing, China
IVC-18 is sponsored by the International Union of Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA),
and organized by the Chinese Vacuum Society (CVS).
The congress will take place at the Beijing International Convention Center in August, 2010.
Joint international conferences include ICN+T (2010), ICSS-14 and VASSCAA-5.
This will be a great opportunity for professionals within the academic, research and industrial communities
to exchange and share the latest scientific findings and technology development. We will invite leading researchers
to present the latest research results covering the field of materials, surface and nano sciences.
About 2000-3000 delegates will attend the congress.
Beijing has been spiritually and politically the heart of China for several hundreds of years. She This beautiful city has many of the grandest remnants of the Imperial Age, but is also a modern city, merging international civilizations, sciences and technologies. IVC-18 is being held very close to the main site of the 2008 Olympic Games. A new fascinating Beijing will welcome your arrival!
IUVSTA organizes an International Vacuum Congress (IVC) every three years. Since 1971, this Congress has been held in conjunction with the International Conference on Solid Surfaces (ICSS).
IUVSTA is an international federation of thirty national vacuum organizations. It represents nearly 15,000 physicists, chemists, materials scientists, engineers and technologists who are active in basic and applied research, development, manufacturing, sales and education. The key body in IUVSTA is the Executive Council which comprises a Councilor from each of the national society members, together with seven elected officers. Under the Executive Council are a series of special Committees, which meet at each Executive Council Meeting (ECM), (normally held twice each year in conjunction with a scientific conference of IUVSTA or one of its member societies), and a set of eight Scientific Divisions, each comprising an electoral college of members nominated by the national society members, and a smaller Divisional Committee elected from this college. The purpose of IUVSTA is to provide a worldwide platform for the promotion, proliferation, and education of vacuum science, techniques, and applications.
