Parameters such as operating pressure, the mixture of gases to be pumped, and the maximum starting pressure can vary so dramatically that no one ion pump would be the best in every case. products: Sputter Ion Pumps IZ 30 - 400 The new line of highly efficient, diode pumps optimized for noble gases in UHV applications down to 10-12 mbar. Sputter ion pumps operate on the principle of gettering reactive gases particles, respectively ion implantation of noble gases. Through these physical principles, an excellent pumping effect down in to the UHV range is attained. Sputter ion pumps from Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum are diode type pumps with an optimized pumping speed for noble gases (e.g. argon). The IZ line allows direct pressure measurements down to a pressure range of approx. 10-11 mbar through the integrated pressure readout of the operating unit IPC. Sputter ion pumps are used in all applications where a clean and vibration-free ultra-high vacuum is required, like in highly sensitive scanning electron microscopes, for example. |
