It is the European platform of the member companies of these national associations. PN 5 is observing and supporting the International Standardisation Organisation (ISO/TC 112 "Vacuum Technology") and the European committee of Standardisation (CEN/TC 232 "Compressors-Safety) on the corresponded field of activity. Furthermore PN 5 develops own recommendations and keeps the members informed on the relevant European directives.

Morandi 2, 20121 Milano, Italy Fondata nel 1963, l'AIV è una associazione a carattere culturale senza fini di lucro che si propone di diffondere in Italia la conoscenza scientifica, tecnologica ed applicativa delle tecniche del vuoto, delle superfici, delle interfacce, delle strutture nanometriche, dei materiali e dei processi per l'elettronica, dei film sottili, dei plasmi e della metallurgia in vuoto collegando gli associati tra loro al fine di realizzarne una migliore collaborazione e di sostenerne in campo nazionale ed internazionale i problemi di comune interesse. I membri dell'Associazione operano nei settori della ricerca applicata e fondamentale, nell'insegnamento, in campo industriale e commerciale. AIV organizza periodicamente scuole, workshop e giornate di studio su argomenti specifici di rilevanza industriale; con cadenza biennale organizza un Congresso Nazionale sulla Scienza e la Tecnologia del Vuoto. Nel 2004 l'AIV è stata incaricata da IUVSTA di organizzare a Venezia il Congresso Internazionale a cui è prevista la partecipazione di circa 1500 operatori scientifici e di 400 aziende espositrici provenienti da tutto il mondo NEVAC - de Nederlandse Vacuüm Vereniging - www.nevac.nl De Nederlandse Vacuüm Vereniging (NEVAC), opgericht op 13 april 1962, bevordert de uitwisseling van kennis op het gebied van vacuümtechniek en gebieden waarin vacuüm een grote rol speelt. De vereniging doet dit door het organiseren van wetenschappelijke bijeenkomsten, excursies en een uitgebreid cursusprogramma. Op dit gebied is er tevens samenwerking met de Belgische Vacuümvereniging BelVac. Leden hebben hierbij toegang tot elkaars activiteiten. De NEVAC telt ruim 300 wetenschappers, technici en vertegenwoordigers. Daarnaast zijn er ruim 40 bedrijven lid. De vereniging draait geheel op de enthousiaste deelname van vrijwilligers uit de industrie en de universiteit. Een paar hoogtepunten uit de recente NEVAC geschiedenis: - De NEVAC organiseerde het 12e International Vacuum Congres (IVC-12/ICSS-8) in Den Haag in 1992 en de 17e Europese Conferentie over Surface Science (ECOSS-17) in Twente, 1997. - De NEVAC organiseert gemiddeld zes nationale bijeenkomsten per jaar met onderwerpen varieërend van fundamentele oppervlaktefysica tot toepassingen van de vacuümtechnologie. - Het NEVACBLAD verschijnt 4x per jaar en dient als contactblad voor de leden. Het bevat doorgaans 3-5 artikelen op het gebied van vacuümtoepassingen. Een nummer per jaar wordt geheel gevuld door studenten, naar aanleiding van een zeer succesvolle jaarlijkse bijeenkomst waarop studenten het programma verzorgen. - De NEVAC heeft een eigen Leerstoel in de vacuümtechnologie, aan de Technische Universiteit Delft. - Ongeveer elke twee jaar wordt er een buitenlandse excursie georganiseerd.
